Goodbye Childhood

Did I ever tell y'all I was a Girl Scout?

Well, I was, for many years. I started as a Daisy and made it all the way to being a senior level. I went through so many of the changes the Girl Scouts have gone through in the past twenty years. From the cookie prices going up, to Studio 2B, to the levels changing. The saddest change is watching our beloved camps close. I spent many summers going to Camp Low Country.

A week of fun in the humid, South Carolina heat. Days spent doing crafts at Stono, swimming in the pool, walking to and from Dogwood and working on my skills on the archery field. It was a great way to get away, make friends, and try new things. Sadly, Camp Low Country has been closed. This saddens me deeply that future generations of girls will not share the same great experience and love that I have for Camp Low Country.

I have so many great memories from the multiple summers I spent at Camp Low Country.

Goodbye Camp Low Country. You will be missed.

Love,
A Girl Scout
